ABOUT US
The Colin Moore Community Resource Centre is located at 724 North Beach Road, on the corner of Lagonda Drive and North Beach Road in Gwelup, overlooking the Lake Gwelup Reserve. The building was originally a small house and was refurbished and extended in 1996 and set up for use as a playgroup and party facility. With its children’s play area, sand patch and doll house, it is ideal for holding events for young children
The house has a main hall, which is carpeted and air conditioned, and a reheat kitchen that opens onto the main hall through a servery. The hall connects to a large patio, which is fenced and covered, by a set of double sliding doors. Adjacent to the patio is a kids’ play area with a small slide, monkey bars and a climbing frame. A number of other kids play items are located within the fenced area.
Parking space for 8 cars is provided in front of the building, and further parking can be accommodated on the adjacent road verge.
The hall can be booked for children’s parties or other suitable events on weekends. Early morning, lunch and evening booking times are also available.

TAKE A LOOK AT A FEW PICTURES OF THE HOUSE
The building, which was originally known as Gwelup Cottage, was originally used as the caretaker’s house for the adjacent park. The house had not been occupied for some time and in 1996, the Rotary Club of Balcatta arranged with the City of Stirling to refurbish and extend it and make it available for use as a Community Resource Centre. In 2018 the Rotary Club of Osborne Park took over the management of the Centre.
The main hall measures 9.5 X 5.1 metres, has a vinyl plank floor and is air conditioned. Located within a cupboard in this area are 6 trestle tables, 2 child (short leg) trestle table, 26 chairs. There are also 15 children’s chairs and 3 small tables available for use by party hirers. Separate male and female toilets are located off the hall.
The kitchen is suitable for preparing and warming up food. It includes two domestic stoves which are suitable for warming up foods and light cooking, but not for heavy fat frying. A kettle, microwave oven and refrigerator are also provided, but no dishwasher. A supply of crockery and cutlery is provided in the accessible cupboards.
The patio is connected to the main hall by double sliding doors. It measures 9.8 X 11.8 metres and is equipped with lighting for use at night. The patio and children’s play area are enclosed by a child proof fence. A small cubby house and a few other play items are located within this area.
The children’s play area has a sand floor and is covered by a shade cloth roof. Within the sand play area is kid’s activity centre incorporating a climbing frame, two slides, monkey bars and other items. The facility was refurbished in March 2019. A small grassed area is located adjacent to the play area.
The small office is equipped with a table and 6 chairs, a large monitor and a whiteboard. It is suitable for small meeting or general office use. It can be booked for $50 for morning, afternoon or evening time slots on a casual or permanent basis. Contact us by email (rotaryosbpk@gmail.com) or telephone (0448 206 969) for booking or additional details.
